Bad Effects of GamblingGambling can be accompanied by sad realities. You cannot always win and take home lots of money that will pay food for the table.
Gambling can destroy families. Wife/husband and kids may develop hate towards a gabling addict because of the latter's neglect. Gambling addicts ignore their family life, focusing on gambling and gambling alone. They do not care about what is happening in the house, do not care about their kids' problems. They could not even feel that their spouse is aiming to divorce them. For gambling addicts, nothing else matters but gambling.
Gambling can bleed your bank account dry. Those addicted in gambling almost end up saving money allotted for more important things like health or medical insurance. They find themselves in big gambling debts that they will never be able to pay for. If unlucky, they end up in a mess with loansharks who would go after their lives if they are unable to pay.
Gambling can impede your career growth. If you are a student, you skip classes and forget to study your lessons, all for gambling. If you are working, you show up less and less at the office, and your performance drops. Your gambling career has become your only career. This means that if you fail in your gambling career, you will have nowhere else to go. You have no choice but to sulk and regret all those times that you wasted in gambling, that should have been used for more productive things. It will be harder to come back to the real world now, because time has already passed you by. Opportunities are not there anymore and you've forgotten how to work. Now you think that you should have saved for future use. But instead, you used all your savings up for that gambling urges you have.
Gambling can make you sick. Gambling addicts find it hard to sleep at night, or even eat. Their health suffers as their body does not get the rest and energy it needs. Of course, they do not think their health is important, what else could be more significant than gambling? However all the lost hours of sleep and the nourishment food should have brought will take its toll once they grow old. Their body is not as strong as it once was to fight sicknesses. They are now more prone to many kinds of diseases that should have been easily prevented, if not for gambling.
